If you are interested in joining Local 1613 of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), please visit the About Local 1613 page,  Union FAQ, and other public pages of this website to learn more about your union.  If you have any questions, please contact a union representative at your respective location.

To join Local 1613, download Form 1187 and give it to a union representative at your assigned location.

Alternatively, you can fax it directly to American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the parent organization for AFGE. To learn more about AFGE, visit the website

  • Prepare a cover letter indicating that you would like to join and that your membership application is attached.
  • Fax the completed form with the cover letter to Membership & Organization at (202) 639-6492.

AFGE will identify the Local at your location and contact you (please include a telephone number where they may contact you). If you have any questions, please call AFGE at (202) 639-6410.

If you are a member of a NBPC Local and you transfer to a different Local, contact a union representative at your new Local and request to have your membership transfered to the new Local.
